The thesis I have developed over the past few years is titled: “Diversity and Ecology of the Oribatid Mites (Acari) Communities in Forest Soils from the Basque Country and Navarra,” and was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Juan Carlos Iturrondobeitia and Dr. Mark Maraun at the University of the Basque Country and the University of Göttingen (Germany). The research focused on studying the communities of Oribatid Mites in various forests of the northern Iberian Peninsula from different perspectives, such as: a) trophic studies through stable isotope analysis, b) analysis of genetic variation due to geographical and climatic gradients, and c) examination of variations in Oribatid Mite communities in relation to forest type, climatic region, and the passage of time.
